Louisville, KY –- Thoroughbred Research Group, a full service national research firm, announced today the expansion of its Service Bureau capabilities with the addition of Brandon Curtis.

According to company president Steve Alsbury, "the addition of Brandon enables our Service Bureau to provide clients with expanded capabilities and faster turnaround times in the areas of telephone survey programming, online survey programming and hosting and tabulation services."

"I'm excited to join the Thoroughbred Research Group team and look forward to contributing to the vitality of the Service Bureau operations," notes Curtis. The addition of Curtis adds another ten years of research programming and tabulation experience to the already expansive service bureau. The team now enjoys nearly 70 years of combined programming and tabulation experience.

Thoroughbred Research Group Service Bureau provides in-house research departments and other market research firms with timely programming and hosting services for both phone (landline and mobile) and web enabled research studies.

Connected Nation is a leading technology organization whose stated goal is to help communities, institutions, and individuals realize the benefits of today's technology. As part of their mission and the mandate in the 2009 economic stimulus bill, they are embarking on mapping broadband and Internet use throughout the United States.

Mapping and identifying areas of the U.S. that are lacking broadband Internet, both rural and urban, is no small task. Having the ability to reach and measure Internet usage by residential and business type is one of the reasons Thoroughbred Research Group was chosen as a strategic partner.

Residential mapping is the first phase of the research with estimates of 40,000+ interviews using a dual methodology of data collection with both cell phones and dedicated landlines. The seven states to be included in this initial phase are Alaska, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, and South Carolina.

Phase two of the project is an additional 8,400+ surveys across the same seven states for business Internet usage and accessibility.

According to Thoroughbred Research Group president Steve Alsbury, "We are using an RDD EPSEM sample frame for our phone sample to ensure representation of listed as well as non listed households. Current quotas are set at 100 per county within each state as well as 200 random state-wide interviews. The cell phone portion is not at a 95% confidence level, but within the 200 sample size we can get a read back towards the RDD for comparative review. Business sampling will be 800+ interviews across each state with a percentage completed within specific SIC's, and company size quotas."
